Membership magazine: Hemma i HSB
A membership magazine all about the home
Eight times a year more than half a million HSB members receive the magazine Hemma i HSB. The magazine aims to inspire readers to take on projects in their homes, and offers practical advice on everything from renovation and interior design to issues related to housing and finances.
When a house becomes a home
In the membership magazine, HSB’s newly constructed apartments and houses are presented with large, colorful photos. In each issue we describe a newly built home, the people who live there, and what changes they have made to their home.
Focusing on tenant associations
HSB is about more that just apartments. As a cooperative, HSB promotes membership activities and tenant associations. In each issue we visit tenant associations around the country to see how they have improved their housing situation together. The stories might focus on making greener courtyards, problems with water damage, or other joint projects. An honest and nuanced approach to both problems as well as successes related to apartment living increases the credibility of the magazine and is appreciated by the readers.
Practical guides
Hemma i HSB often gives readers tips on how they can improve their housing situation based on the special conditions of tenant ownership. The tips can cover everything from bathroom renovations to remodeling the hallway. We often use illustrations so that we can present the articles to readers in an easy-to-understand format.
Readers like the membership magazine
It is important for Tidningskompaniet that we are certain that the magazine is working. Reader surveys for Hemma i HSB show that the magazine and its content provide practical information for individual HSB members, which consequently strengthens their relationship with the cooperative.
HSB published in regional issues
Since HSB’s operations cover the entire country, it is important that members also feel solidarity with their local or regional HSB association. Hemma i HSB is therefore published in 14 local editions. Tidningskompaniet collects material from every corner of the country, then edits and compiles it with the magazine’s nation-wide pages.
