Membership magazine: Trossen

The membership magazine that keeps its members

The membership magazine that keeps its members

Sjöräddningssällskapet needs a strong membership base in order to do its work. Our goal is that the circulation for Trossen will continue to grow – preferably to more than 100,000 copies. And while we have the attention of boat owners, we can tell them about how they can make their boating experiences, and those of others, even safer.

Sounding the alarm

Sounding the alarm

Every year Sjöräddningssällskapet carries out several spectacular rescue operations. The rescue missions involve boats in distress due to bad weather, or – if we are to be honest – due to the crew’s bad judgment. Sjöräddningssällskapet only cares about one thing: saving lives. Every issue of the membership magazine Trossen naturally reflects this core mission, which has been given its own section called “Larmet går!” (“Sounding the alarm”).

Dream interview with the king

Dream interview with the king

King Carl XVI Gustaf is one of Sjöräddningssällskapet’s most notable benefactors and a person genuinely interested in boating. So it was only natural that he agreed to a special interview with Trossen’s reporter. Our 15-page story presents with photos and text the king’s lifelong love for boating in the sea. We follow him on his sailing journey from his first Optimist sailboat to the challenging Gotland Race regatta.

Who wants to read a boring membership magazine?

Who wants to read a boring
membership magazine?

Trossen does in fact contain articles about the importance of wearing a lifejacket and what to do if there is a fire onboard. But this is not enough. A membership magazine that only looks inward quickly gets boring. And who wants to read a boring magazine? Trossen therefore contains stories and interviews about life at sea. They could be about Tomas Tengby’s best food tips while onboard, or a report from Sweden’s most beautiful natural harbors.
